The Aquarius Age:  Its Impact on Today's Generation and Consumerism

Nowadays, everyone describes the era we are in as the Aquarius Age. But, have we ever tried to fathom the reason behind this title or why this time period was named after this specific zodiac sign? 

Interestingly, the evolution of human race or its gravitation towards a particular niche is depicted by astrophysics. Astrophysics, in simple words, is the astronomy concerned with the physical position of celestial objects. This, thereafter, forms another branch of study called Astrology that is in tandem with astronomy. Before, we discuss about astrology's association with today's Aquarius Age, let's clear a misconception.

Often people assume that in Astrology, our stars, predetermined position of celestial objects and predictions created by astrologists decide the pathway of our life and what future it holds. If that was so, then why did God give us life when we have a source already available that determines the nature of our death? Aquarius:

You must have heard of sun signs depicted in the zodiac list. There are a total of 12 signs out of which Aquarius is the 11th one. Moreover, our world has gotten an eccentric yet eye-opening form of clarity. The Aquarius Age was at its pinnacle during the pandemic times. Albeit the atrocities that we faced such as becoming grounded in our own homes, several features of Aquarius were evident and for some, they were beneficial. Firstly, we understood the impending doom our planet might face if no action for conserving the environment was taken. Secondly, we began immersing into technology which now plays a mammoth role in our daily life. There was a prefix to every task such as job, internship, classes- 'virtual'. In spite of the trough in the pandemic now, people are much more wonted to remote jobs or professions. Moreover, this time was a wonderful opportunity for business people to make new kinds of products such as hand sanitizers or disinfectants. After this life-changing pandemic, new forms of technology developed such as Augmented Reality and Meta which have now gained extreme prominence. 

The Impact on Consumerism:

Consumerism brings forth a concept of increasing the consumption of commodities while considering the well-being of the people who actually utilize the commodities (consumers). While offline retail shops succumbed to a huge setback, online shopping platforms like Amazon witnessed success at a high watermark. Furthermore, the nature of demand of consumers has changed too! Let's take an instance- why do you think that Tesla has much more popularity than other car brands or why the business people predilect it more? In the luxury market, cars are now differentiated upon technological features which is the main criteria people evaluate the quality of such products upon. Additionally, the demands of various companies include tech-savvy skills in the potential people they wish to hire. In whatsoever field you enter like pharmaceuticals requires the knowledge of computer science to give clarity in the research. The reliability of drugs depends on the ability of the latest tech. equipment to test medicines. With the inception of this age, globalization has finally settled in line wherein multiple corporations or free enterprises around the world can smoothly communicate and practice trade seamlessly whilst also arising consumer demand for different variety of products in every nook and cranny of the globe. This is made possible with technological developments in transportation, communication and professional software. 

Since Aquarius is free-spirited, its all about undertaking profitable and capitalist ventures. For the stability in the economic world, socialism which looks after the benefits of all, is also significant in the changes in consumerism. For instance, rapid progress in organizations like NASA or state control economies. Hence, this age brings about an economic reality that with the establishment of capitalism where privatization can bring exponentially high advantages to the people, fostering socialism is of utmost importance in order to thwart worldly dooms like the COVID-19. Therefore, we must join hands in this 'Aquarian Economy'.

The Aquarius Age has made everything apparent in socio-economic and environmental sense. The advent of every age that is in tandem with astrophysics will bring a flair of general features that will definitely influence us in one possibly good or bad way. We must be geared up for every change that comes our way with the agility to adapt to our circumstances while also remaining rooted to our principles.
