The Vastu Colour Wheel...

All this long, we have been talking about our universe and Hinduism. In terms of Hinduism, Vedic Astrology and Vastu play a very major role according to every human. But what are they? Vedic refers to the Hindu science and astrology is the study of one's life with the universe, mathematics and science (religious science). In the universe, we have a unique solar system with various planets and the celestial objects such as the Sun and Moon. Each of these planets and celestial objects have a different impact on ever person's life. This involves science in how each planet retrogrades, transits and disappears. Mathematics helps in calculating the position of each planet by degree of each person. Without going any further deep into this, Vedic Astrology might seem to be boring and mundane. However, its quite fascinating as if an insight to one's soul, checking his karmas of this life. People who indulge in astrology are called astrologists. In India, its a common practice that whenever anyone is in a dilemma he/she ends up with an astrologist. Until now, all the posts have been based on some specific reason stated in Vedic Astrology. It is indeed a vast study and mastering it widens your crown and third eye chakra, perceiving into a completely different world. In the upcoming posts, we will be bringing Vedic astrology quite often.

The second is Vastu. Well, what does it mean? Vastu means the atmosphere or environment you live in. Your surroundings obviously impact your lifestyle immensely. So, the objects placed in your surrounding or the colors used in the decor of your house have a particular meaning in your life. For instance, red maybe quite lucky for someone while for another quite malefic. But wait a second- many people don't believe in luck: How is it logical?! Luck as in energy. For someone, the energy of red could be appropriate while for another inappropriate. Its just like being allergic to peanut butter while the rest of the world loves it. Therefore, today we will be discussing about the Vastu color wheel which states the logic behind the impact of a color in a specific direction. For instance, why red objects should be kept in the south? After reading this post, you will be able to answer this question. Also, at the end of the post, there will be a short quiz to test your knowledge about the Vastu Color Wheel.

Colors play such a beautiful role in our lives. It truly adds purpose to the purpose of life and since kindergarten we have learned about our primary, secondary and tertiary colors. There are many realms in Vastu according to which we choose the colors. So, let us enumerate them one-by-one:

I) Zodiac sign- according to your zodiac signs, there are some colors you should take into consideration. Like, when decorating your room, you could add the color which would be exhilarating for you. Here is the list below:

Aries-Coral Red

Taurus- Milky White

Gemini-Green

Cancer-Rose red, pearl white

Leo-ruby red, dim white

Virgo-emerald green

Libra- cement color, milky white

scorpio-pink, coral red

sagittarius- golden yellow

pisces- yellow, pure white

II) Direction- the color scheme could also be chosen according to the direction as discussed before. Each direction is governed by a specific planet such as Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Mercury, etc.

We have discussed which color is favorable where. Although all colors are great and without them there is no life, according to even the Chinese mythical practice,"Feng shui", we should be able to distinguish between positive energies and negative energies which is only possible with the colors of the objects around us. So now we will be discussing which each positive color symbolizes.

i) Blue- it is known as the cold color because its emblematic of calmness and serenity. It has a kind of sedative effect and most suitable.

ii) Red- it happens to be the quickest color read by our brain as it stimulates our organs and is linked to strength, energy and passion.

iii) Yellow- this color is one of the most positive colors. Its associated with power, self-esteem and communication. Pale yellow, a nuance of yellow, happens to be cheerful and welcoming and often is near study environments because it has the ability to increase the concentration and memory.

iv) Green- this color is an anti-stress nuance because its associated with the natural elements of our planet.

v) Purple- knowingly well that the awesome mixture of red and blue create this dual color which is a spiritual and meditation generator. That is also why I have even kept the theme of my blog purple.

vi) Pink- a vibrant color that everybody loves and represents love, affection and harmony.

vii) Black- this color happens to be my personal favorite as its so chic and symbolizes elegance, power  and refinement. Its simply just an unbeatable color of luxury. According to me, it gives a vibe of mysticism. Since it absorbs all energy and light, it enhances the beauty of other objects in its surroundings.

viii) White- life is just incomplete without this color. Life came upon this planet with the color white. It represents purity, pristinity, and the Supreme himself including neutrality and innocence of a person with very good karmas. It even highlights other colors.

ix)Brown- the color often used in the east direction harmonizes with everything and is quite agile. It has many positive connotations and stabilizes other colors with warmth.

Elemental Vastu Color Wheel...

Until now, we have elaborated the use of such colors in various aspects. Now, let us briefly discuss the main colors in accordance with the five significant elements of this universe- earth, water, metal, fire and wood. According to these elements, there is a list of colors grouped.
i) Fire - orange, pink, purple, yellow, light brown
ii) Earth- peach, pure white, brown, grey
iii)Metal- whites, grey, black

v) Wood- brown, green, black

Earlier we discussed about Feng Shui concept of colors that distinguish energies. This concept is based on the Chinese Zodiac signs. Besides India, China as well happens to have a vast religious history. Below there is a chart of the Chinese Zodiac signs according to each person's birth date, choose your Chinese zodiac sign and learn about the colors.

Once you decide your Chinese Zodiac Sign, you could also check what is the favorable color along with the element in the chart below, as we did with the other zodiac signs before.

As we can observe, the Feng Shui concept is akin to our Vastu theory in which the elements of our world as well as zodiac signs influence us immensely as its an insight of who we actually are. I hope you all enjoyed this informative post. In the next one, I will be posting the quiz.
